The students in Ms. Eboni’s Kindergarten Class have been learning about comparing numbers. They were able to identify the greater than, less than, and equal to symbols (> < =). As we focus on collaboration and contribution at Trinity, the students had a Link Chain Activity around this Math concept.

Each group was given one piece of construction paper. They were to try to make the longest link chain using one piece of paper. The students had to collaborate about which way to cut the paper while trying to have the most links.

The end result…the longest link chain was 32 links long and the shortest link chain was 9 links long!

Based off of what students learned about comparing numbers they were able to determine that the chain with 32 links was greater than the chain with 9 links (329).
