Have you always lived in Tampa?

I’m originally from Rochester, New York, but I earned my undergraduate degree at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

How did you wind up in the field of education?

My teaching career began in Boston, where I also completed my Master’s Degree in learning disabilities and assessment at Simmons College. I worked as a classroom teacher, math co-teacher, and mentor at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in Harvard Square. However, after eight years in Massachusetts, my husband and I decided to leave the cold winters for the golf course!

What was your experience like upon arriving in Florida?

Upon arriving in Tampa, I accepted a position as Director of the new Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes center. For six years I helped to educate families, teachers, and administrators on Lindamood-Bell’s programs. The knowledge and experience I gained from Lindamood-Bell is priceless, but being back in the school environment has been such a better fit for my family.

How did you wind up here at Trinity?

Dr. O’Dea hired me six years ago as an Intervention Specialist to develop our Response to Intervention Program and monitor student progress school-wide. Since then, I have fallen in love with this community and consider Trinity my home away from home!

What is your favorite:

 ·      Movie? Star Wars

·      Book? Whatever my kids are reading—Harry Potter and Dr. Seuss right now!

·      Musical Artist? Dave Matthews Band

·      Candy? Reese’s Pieces

·      Restaurant? Bella’s Italian Café

·      Memory? Fall seasons growing up in Upstate New York–miss so much about those months—the colors, the food, the weather and the outdoor adventures!

Any other special things you’d like to share with our community?

This year, my son is enjoying his transition to 4th Grade, while my daughter completes her last year in our Early Childhood Program. As Assistant Principal, I look forward to supporting all students, teachers and families.
